The One Who Captured My Heart
Meet Harvey
…the pup who captured my heart. Of course, it was inevitable – he’s my dog! 🙂
Harvey is our newly adopted cattle dog, and he has had quite the journey – he was about 7 months old when they found him roaming the streets in a small town in North Carolina. Being dirty and hungry quickly earned him the name “Mr. Stinky.” How horrible is that!?!
The scary part was that he was placed in a high-kill shelter. Time passed, and he remained unclaimed. When time ran out, the shelter staff moved him to “Death Row.”
Thankfully Pilots N Paws came to the rescue and flew him to safety – a NO-KILL shelter in Washington DC. They cleaned him up, neutered him, and contacted the Australia Cattle Dog Rescue Association (ACDRA), who then placed this rambunctious little guy in a foster home. And that’s how we found him!
The best way to describe Harvey is that he is like a little rugby player – compact, solid muscle, afraid of nothing, full of energy, smart as a whip and doesn’t have a gentle bone in his body! We couldn’t possibly love him more!!!Â
